History

1942: Built by British Raj during World War II

Originally served as last line of defense against Wehrmacht

After WWII: Used as processing area for returning American soldiers

Base abandoned after war, then brought back to use by PAF

1949: Upgraded to station status for training radio and radar technicians

1963: School of Electronics (SOE) moved from PAF Base Malir to Korangi Creek

Currently maintains Air Defence and lodger units for wartime readiness

Provided efficient support during 1965 Indo-Pakistani War

Provided efficient support during 1971 Indo-Pakistani War

10 May 2025: Targeted by Indian Air Force during Operation Sindoor
